SNN is projecting that Frank Simon of the Working Families Party will become the first President of the Republic of Scooby Snaks, defeating the Free Republic candidate Nick White.
He along with Vice President-Elect Jon Grossman will be inaugerated at the Capitol Building in Scooby Snaks tomorrow at 12:00 noon.

Millions gathered in Central Plaza not only to bring in the new year, but also to hear the President-Elects victory speech," To all Scooby Snakians, tonight we have done it. We have ushered in not only the new year but also a stepping stone in the history of this young nation. I have promised you all that I will fight for the working and middle classes, and with the help of the new Grand Senate, I only hope that I can turn these promises into reality. This is not a victory for me, this is a victory for Scooby Snaks.''

He said that his first priority upon taking office will be to establish a national bank and currency, as well as generating government revenue. He also said that establishing alliances with Austin Setzer and Neo Nibu is essential to the nations long term survival.

The Free Republic Party has won the majority in the Scooby Snaks Grand Senate by winning in 8 of the 12 districts.

Meanwhile President Simon and Vice President Grossman were both inaugerated on the steps of the Capitol Building in Scooby Snaks City by the Archbishop of the Scooby Snaks Church.

The President has stressed for bipartisanship in the Senate. He has expressed a desire to establish a national bank as well as a national currency. The Free Republic majority, (or Republicans, as they refer to themselves as), have strongly opposed the national bank citing its absense in the Constitution.

The Republicans are expected to name Presidntial Election runner up Nick White as the Speaker of the Senate, who gets a vote in a Senate. THe Working Families Party (or Federalists, as they are called for their support of the Consitution), will name Bart Thompson as the Senate Minority Leader, so the Senate gets 14 votes: 12 senators-one from each district, and the Senate Speaker/Senate Minority Leader. The Vice President also votes but only in case of a tie.

With the "tear down this wall" act being passed so graciously by Gregory Mercer, Gonzdara can now finally poke its head into regional politics. Mercer has announced that he expects no less than 12 world wars and an international bankruptcy will be enough to catch Gonzdara up to speed. He awaits a responce from any other nations in Trav Khar.

President Simon has announced the Republic's intentions to join the new TKU because of Trav Khar's continued period of inactivity.

Also the proposal to add a lower house of Congress has been ratified due to a complete standstill in the government to get any bill passed. Elections will be held on January 25th.

A Gonzdarian Knight walks into the office of Gregory Mercer and bows deeply. "Sir I have a letter for you from Austin Setzer." Mercer grins, "Austin Setzer you say? Well lets see what he wants." Mercer opens up the letter and sees that it is an invitation to join the 'Trav Khar Union'. Mercer ponders for a minute before writing a letter back to Setzer.

"I am glad to hear from you, and I am very glad you bring to me this message of peace and unity, that is what we Gonzdarians are all about, well, recently thats what weve been all about anyways. I would like to join this union, but I expect an increase in trade and protection, of course I will repay the favor."

Gregory Mercer hands the letter to the Gonzdarian Knight who briskly takes in downstairs to be mailed to Austin Setzer. Mercer smiles as he thinks to himself "Good, maby I can use this new union to secure that occupied costal land ive been wanting all these years. A port and a Gonzdarian Navy would be wonderful. Maby if I can turn the union against the nations who currently own this land."

The lights turn out all across Empire City due to the "National Bed Time" act that was passed recently.

- In other news the nation is in the exact opposite of a depression, it was only a few months ago an A bomb struck our capital, yet we have rebuilt it to its former glory, and more, we have spent countless volenteer hours, and now the nations economy is far more succesful then many other nations, we hope to be the leader of the TKU and maybe, establish a currency for everyone.

President Simon has signed his first two bills without voting of congress since taking office nearly 4 weeks ago:

1.Water Conservation Act- Enforce certain days where people can use water-Mon., Wed., Fri., and Sun. for Western Scooby Snaks- Tues., Thurs., and Sat. for Eastern Scooby Snaks.

2.Motor Free Act- Designates certain areas or "zones" of Scooby Snaks City where only foot traffic and bicycles are permitted.

Free Republicans are fully opposed to these acts citing the Presidents forcefulness of enforcing these acts without the senate even voting on the them and call him a tyrant.

President Simon has also pledged his support for the TKU's nuclear dissarmament proposal.
