The FRA has had a eventful and productive past two weeks since the previous update. FRA awards, missions, defences, RA debates and the return of A World Power.
The FRA awards, are an internal awards for the FRA rangers. Like previous years many high ranking officers were ineligible for nomination due to drunken shenanigans while on duty. This year however, saw Lieutenant Wibblefeet, of 00000 A World Power become the Ranger of the Year 2011, having only been a ranger since December 2010.
Brigadier-General Frattastan, of The Rejected Realms (RRA), won the Spotter of the Year for his ability to spot on-going invasions preventing dozens of regions from being subjected to raids. Congratulations to them both.
Along with the FRA ranger awards are service medals given to individuals based on years of service. For the first time the 5 year service star was awarded, given to Northern Chittowa, of North Pacific and Global Rights Alliance. There were seven new recipients of the one year service star this year, congratulations to everyone. A full list of awards can be found here:
FRA Awards
The Rangers have recently participated in 19 defences and liberations 15 of which were successful. Six of those missions were in conjunction with TITO or the UDL. We'd like to extend our thanks to these two organisations and look forward to working with them soon.
Of the other missions, United Kingdom supplied a number of troops to 7 of those successful missions. The RRA from The Rejected Realms supplied troops to 12 missions in total, both the UK and RRA supplying one to four troops at any given time. A special mention to Indian Gangs of The United Federation who attempted to defend a number of regions on his own during one update. I like to thank all Rangers and member regions for their continued service to defending and ensuring the protection and safety of founderless regions across Nationstates.
The Regional Assembly has also seen a big jump in activity with a controversial debate ensuing about the status of the Crusaders of Justice. It was proposed that the CoJ be downgraded to protectorate status as they had only one active rep and regional activity had sadly hit an all time low. During the voting stage a second representative, Taiping volunteered for the position. Meaning the motion was defeated 6 votes to 7, with 4 abstains. This led to one member of the Regional Assembly proposing the downgrade and removal of a number of FRA Member regions, causing widespread debate about how to define and determine the state of each member region. It is likely a charter amendment will follow soon. Watch this space.
Some good news. New Sorvun is attempting a revival. Likako plans to restore New Sorvun to its former glory.
And finally, 00000 A World Power has returned. After months of hibernation a number of members have returned and are looking to rebuild the region. The FRA welcomes them back and looks forward to helping them in the rebuilding process.
