From the Office of the Arch-Chancellor
Greetings everyone,
First of all, an announcement. Tupelope (or tupelope, as he prefers being called), resigned from the Vice-Chancellorship due to a loss of interest in NationStates, and has been replaced by Indian Gangs from the United Federation, who will fill the position until the end of the term. Congratulations!
With concerns over the future of the Alliance and its identity in the long term, the Assembly is thriving with activity.
In the last two weeks, representatives have been debating on a solution for Ranger applicants rejected due to lack of experience (which needs to be balanced with security - and will likely be addressed with the creation of a Militia), on the possible resurrection of the Intelligence Sharing Center initially set up by former Minister Numero Capitan and on the need to liaison more with regional militaries - especially those which have active members but have not fully developed their potential yet.
Amendments codifying Shared Candidacy in elections, and restrictions to ensure that an individual holds all or part of only a single elected position concurrently have both recently passed. Given the constantly-shifting size of the RA, and the need to implement reforms, a Charter amendment to make the quorum necessary for votes proportional to the number of seated representatives has passed (whereas before it used to be a set number).
And yet again - for the third time this year - we are reconsidering our feeder policy.
The Rangers have seen action in Pact of Steel, Reagan States, United Nations of America, Pacific and Utopia - although overall gameplay activity in Nationstates has seen a considerable decrease, given the attention that most are paying to the brand-new sinker regions.
In addition, 00000 A World Power has chosen to downgrade itself to Protectorate status.
AWP has been for some time the most important and feared of our member regions. However, because of RL commitments of Neasmyrna, the decision of several members to dedicate their time to other regions and the inactivity of many others has finally brought to this decision. We wish to all them the best of luck and hope they will be able to make a comeback and be at the front of the battle against invaders once again.
I would like to reiterate, especially this time, the usual invitation to regional members to sign up on our forums (s7.zetaboards.com/FRA/index).
If you have suggestions, ideas, complaints and want to help shape the Alliance, this is the right time to do it.
If you have any questions, as always, feel free to ask.
Frattastan
Arch-Chancellor of the Founderless Regions Alliance
Finally, a comic.
