Meanwhile, in Libya, Japan and Bahrain... Frankly I don't care about one death in the face of far more who are dieing because of disaster, or for their freedom. Still sad, but in the face of the rest, I can't help but hold a cynical view to a single reported death in the face of so many others who are more worthy of reportage. I have far more respect for those who suffer and struggle for things that matter than a solitary actress. Sorry if I'm being a grim, cruel cynic, but it's what I think about the celebrty culture.

I agree with Teutonic, it is very sad that she died, but it is even sadder when people die from disasters and corupt leaders.

Funny that it made the Wikipedia front page. Of course it's sad, but I'm not that familiar with her. Then again, a good 90% of her movies were made before I was born. I don't think that 'friend of MJ' is the best moniker for her.

Its all relative, When celebrities die, different people have different reactions due to their opinions of them. For example, many people here seem cynical about "the friend of MJ" but would probably bawl their eyes out if another John Lennon died. Im guilty of it as well though, I just try to hold death in equal regards. Which would mean, yes the disasters in libya and japan are worse, but that dosnt mean this isnt still bad, you know?

The death of one man is a tragedy, the death of millions is a statistic...
