Greetings friends and allies.
We have had a dramatic past couple of weeks, as well as our annual Ranger Award.
The Rangers Award for 2011 took place despite a delayed start, in spite of this however, most agreed it was a complete success. Competition for the two awards, Ranger of the Year and Spotter of the Year was fierce. The Spotter of the Year was deservedly won by Major General Spartzerina who defeated his main rival, Arch Chancellor Wopruthien by 36 different invasions to 33.
The surprise of the awards saw Captain The Lepearchauns win the Ranger of the Year, despite only joining the Rangers in August. Lep was heard to exclaim, 'Never thought I had a shot...or would be nominated...or that these awards existed at all SWEET! And Thanks!'. Congratulations to you both.
There has been drama in the Regional Assembly as Jack Dawkins, formerly know as George S. Patton Jr. resigned from his position as Speaker of the Assembly after proposing to downgrade or even expel a number of Member Regions. He came under increasing pressure from fellow reps before offering his resignation. This led to a snap election in what maybe one of the closest elections in FRA history. Three candidates were nominated, Chin-Chillas a two time Arch Chancellor, Lemmingtopias, regarded as one of the most successful Speakers of the Regional Assembly and Likako. The vote was almost completely divided, but Lemmingtopias narrowly secured victory against Chin-Chillas with the final count 9 votes to 8, with Likako gaining a single vote. This was the second largest turnouts in FRA electoral history.

The FRA population increased by 8% since December, with a total of 177 new nations joining various member regions. Special mention should be given to Soviet Union who increased their population by a staggering 68%.
