Personally i like MJ more, i enjoy his music, and his contributions torward society, the 93' and 05' acusations aside, he was a good guy.
The Beatles are good dont get me wrong but they arent my type of music. In terms of Album sales they had a 15+ head start on Michael.
and from what i believe The Beatles, MJ, and Led Zepplin are the top selling artist of all time.

The Beatles, hands down. They represent the final boss of pop music

I'll agree with Teutonic on this one. In terms of musical techniques, the Beatles contributed more as well. Two examples: Overdubbing: I'm somewhat sure they started it. I do know that Deep Purple got inspiration from them about overdubbing on their machine head album. Backwards guitar: Play the guitar solo, record it and reverse it. Then learn to play that reversed solo. Record that, and reverse it again to get the final product. Developed by George Harrison, and was used by John Petrucci of Dream Theater (progressive metal) on one of their albums (can't remember which).
Of course, MJ got Van Halen to play on 'Beat It'...

lol, no one tops the Beatles 1) They are the best selling musical act in the United States. 2) "They are amongst the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed bands in the history of popular music". (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Beatles) 3) The Beatles released 40 number 1 singles, EPs, and albums in the UK. 4) By 1985, they where believed to have sold 1 billion albums worldwide. 5) Rolling Stone named them #1 on their list of 100 greatest artists. 6) They made the concept of a self-contained rock group something usual (http://www.reviewmaze.com/2010/12/beatles-achievements.html). 7) The Beatles have had more number one singles (20) and albums (19) in the USA than any other performer. Mj's pretty good too, who doesn't like Thriller?

Sorry NPLX, I have to agree with everyone else here. I love the Beatles, and im not much of a pop guy. But You did ask this question in a very Beatle-Infused Region. Austin says his nation ONLY listens to the Beatles in the RP, and the Emperor himself quotes the Beatles constantly. So yeah

You forgot the part where he touched children, just cause he's dead doesn't make it less so.
I think the Beatles and John Lennon have done more good for the world than MJ. And the Beatles are more well-rounded band in my eyes than MJ.
