What are your thoughts on the developing situation there?
I personally think this is a good example on the power of information. Information is flowing more freely these days and empowering more people. With this information, people have the power to set right what went wrong. I think the fall of Tunesia's autocratic government set off a set of dominoes that hopefully will continue and carry through Egypt.
And I don't really like Mubarak either.

Thats true Kardas. I think what the people are doing is fantasic, BUT, we dont need to treat it, here in america, like we are. Americans think its a revolution for peace and freedom, which is fine, cause that IS the Egyptians intentions, but there are also looters, drugs, and murder running rampant in Egypt right now. We just need to let Egypt do its thing, and NOT get involved, and we deffenitly dont need to celebrate it.

Oh right, I remember reading some bits on looters trying to steal Egyptian artifacts. Luckily all these attempts have been put down for now. With one attempt, the civilians simply refused to let the looters exit the museum. Truly amazing. The clash between pro and anti-Mubarak protesters is worrying though.
And I'm against intervention as well. Part of the reasoning is that it's my opinion, the other bit is that the Dutch can't really do anything about it anyway

oh yes, I just read about that, it was rather frightening.
But I didnt know that the civilians did that? That really is amazing. If only America had strength like the Egyptians, or courage like the Brits, or determination like the french, and so on and so forth.

ok first, America has strength, it is the ONLY superpower of the world, i mean we have the LARGEST economy (notice i didnt say best) in the world right next to China, we account for human rights...and we have INNOVATION.... the situation is win-win if the US LEAVES THEM ALONE! choice one: they overthrow the government that was a dictatorship, saving human rights, which the US likes Choice 2: the friendly egyptian government stays keeping good relations with the US choice three (if we intervene): i would call it new iraq, something similar to iraq and afghan would happen...

I agree with your point about not intervening Austin. and I was talking about American Citizens in general, not our economy or government. but it is true, Americans are very known for innovation, ill give them that.

what are we supposed to do Canta. Run in with our guns and shoot up every revolting Egyptian citizen? That would be manslaughter! Plus we'd never leave, as Austin said.
