Good Day NationStates!
It has been some time since I have put pen to paper and updated the world on the FRA, I apologise for the delay, but rest assured this update will more then make up for our recent update silence!
Firstly, as those of you who ventured into our forums on the eve of Halloween would have experienced, Satan himself, otherwise know as our esteem Arch Chancellor (me), made busy with his admin tools and turned the who forum into a dark dungeon of spooks, enough to make Big Killer Baby's run away in terror. Inside the Cesspit (formally known as the relaxation area) a treasure hunt was organised spanning the whole forum, with myself devilishly hiding clues in posts up to 4 years old for FRA forum members to find. A special mention has to go to Lemmingtopias of Atlantis, who won the hunt, narrowly beating off a relative new comer, Silver, from The Council of Narnia. It was agreed by all that this was an excellent idea, and we are apparently assured that similar themed events are still on the cards, including Christmas! The Halloween theme can still be found in our theme selector, so pop along to our forums to see.
Returning to normality, the Regional Assembly has seen many bills and new ideas pass through its hallowed halls, keeping regions representatives busy. These include a number of charter amendments and a review protocols of the house. An impeachment of the current Regional Recruitment Officer is also currently being voted on as unfortunately 0079 has been unable to commit to the necessary activity levels. We expect elections to be organised soon, so watch this space!
The Rangers have been deployed in a number of extended operations over this period, liberating active regions from raider control, including Durbanian Archipelago and the Legion of Doom. Through this and many other operations the current Chief of Defence, Wopruthien, has amassed the 165 mission points to be promoted Major General, with Spartzerina, a former Chief of Defence only slightly behind with 135 points, being promoted to a Brigadier General role, taking the FRA to 7 starred general officers. The Ranger Mentor system has also been introduced, to allow new and relatively inexperienced defenders get used to defending and the FRA as a whole, especially if their region does not have an active military. I would therefore like to urge anyone interested to come over to our forums and apply; if accepted you will be taught by some of the most experienced defenders in NS and will have a great chance in becoming a full fledged Ranger.
That is all for another two weeks, when I will have the results of the first cabinet conference to announce, so until then!
Kind regards,
Chin-Chillas
