Greetings from the Epic Empire of Quinquex, World Assembly Delegate of the region of Kongregate.
I have been discussing via telegrams an alliance with your region, and to me it seems mutually beneficial. I viewed the discussion which was had in the High Council Discussion Chamber, and would like to clear up and comment on a few things.
"This region seems to be simply a collection of people who use that internet gaming site..." -automaticz
It is true that, to my knowledge, the majority of people who are in the region come from the official Kongregate website (we had a few non-Kongregators come in during the day we were featured). But we use said website more as a recruiting hub if necessary or desired, or as something to talk about given that most of us have it in common. The region itself was the brainchild of a couple of fellows on the Kongregate forum, and, upon my gaining control, I saw no reason to separate the region from the website - we maintain the same title, after all.
I would say to this comment, therefore, that though the region isn't full of the most boisterous and vocally (or typographically, if you wish to be specific) assertive people, it's still active and operational.
"...from what I can see there is no forum and little organisation" -automaticz
We do not have a forum because I decided against it, since I felt as if everything would be best kept centralized on the site - we can perform all necessary regional operations out of the Kongregate Civil Headquarters, and no one else has pushed for having one. I do not at all believe we have only slight organization. The Kongstitution (still in its early stages- pastebin.ca/1977777) outlines the basic operations of our government as of now, our elections, though they aren't receiving the most potent enthusiasm, are proceeding in an organized and efficient pre-election manner, and for 49-user-strong region, I wouldn't say we're a bunch of nobodies.
"I think forming more or less pointless alliances with regions like these would just add baggage to TK" -automaticz
I do not believe that an alliance would be pointless at all. The reasons that no stipulations have come forth is because it doesn't seem that they have been publicized. Nibu and I have discussed everything from simply a ceremonial alliance to a mutual military pact, and are currently still trying to formulate an official agreement with official stipulations.
"This alliance seems increadibly pointless...there will be no cooperation or interaction" -automaticz"
As Nibu was suggesting, an official alliance document shall be created before an alliance shall be entered into. At the very least, an alliance shall serve as a deterrent to possible raider regions for both of our groups, and a primary stepping stone from which both of our regions can build off of. It is better to have an alliance than to not have an alliance for the both of us, opening new doors for inter-regional operations and introducing our nations to a new form of interaction. Any other further mutual benefits shall be addressed, I'm sure, in the official document of alliance.
As of now, it is an honor nonetheless to be on amicable terms with you all.
Sincerely,
Big Brother
