OOC: As a nation that's heavily based on Tolkien I'm pretty much forced to send my leaders off to war IC: Drylts, EorlingathAs the dawn rose, the remnants of the Riddermacht retreated to a small town named Drylts, where they set up camp. Theomer knew that the war could still be won, and made sure he used the most of the Vampyriad myth of weakness to sunlight. During the day he sent up messengers to reinforce his army, and tried their best to strengthen the meager defenses of the town. The town of Drylts was surrounded by a wooden wall, and the Eodred set up guard towers around the perimeter. They also tried to reinforce the gates, and deepened the ditch around the town. Battlements were also constructed for archer platforms. Theomer also sent a company of scouts who were to cross the river Esgaroth, and under strict orders to return before the sun had set. The King sent messengers out of the country to inform possible other nations that existed in Middle Trav Khar (or should we change the continent name?) The members of the Order also tried to replenish their elemental energy, as the fighting had been intensive for them.

An emissary clad in the black and yellow of the Imperial Teutonic court, the Aquila emblazoned on his breast, rides into Dylts. He is weary after extensive travelling, riding none stop for 3 days, whilst his horse is at the point of death, such was the haste imposed. The messenger staggers to the gates, requesting, in heavily accented Eorlic to have an audience with Theodred, claiming to bear tidings of the utmost urgency. After staggering around the town, asking all with the appearance of rank, namely those with the most impressive armour, he eventually meanders into the Kings temporary audience hall. Upon seeing the king, the messenger remembers his purpose, stares agog briefly, his courtiers hat comically slanted, before falling to his knees. “Hail, Theomer, king of the North. I bring greetings and salutations from his Imperial majesty, The Marshal of the Teutonic land Archduke of Ferrine Grand Earl of Verin High Warden of the Umbrian moors Keeper of Sorren Barron of the Shires Chancellor of the Waterdales, Defender of the eastern marches and…” The messenger pauses, clearly trying to remember that last, elusive title. “And…ah…the…ah…no, wait…um…yes!-Master of the twin rivers!” He takes a deep breath, and smiles at his petit triumph “his highness the Emperor Ferdinand IV, of the Imperium Teutonicum Medium.” There follows a few seconds as the emissary attempts to regain his breath, whilst recalling the hastily memorised message “ ’Hail Theodred, King of the north, and lord of horses. I would have wished this messenger would find you in better times, and I regret that I could not have come personally, but, circumstances as they are, I pray that you understand my haste. We are aware that the claws of the undead scratch at your borders, tainting your nation with the corruption associated with their kind. In lieu of a proper treaty (for this is no time for statecraft) I offer the services of one of the militant branches of our church, who make a habit of hunting the fell creatures and their ilk saturating your illustrious nation. It is with great regret that I do not commit more forces as of yet, however, be aware that should things worsen, my empire happens to share a border with this Vampiric Council. It would be no labour to cut deep into their tainted lands as they beset your people, and decapitate the beast in its lair, so’s to speak. The messenger I have sent should bear the location of the Twilit Crusaders on his person…”at this the emissary grows yet paler, and stumbles over the next word, his mind clearly torn between two urgent matters, “ ‘…and…’ ah…’they are yours to use as you see fit in the upcoming battle. Should tidings grow iller still, I shall personally lead an expedition into the lands to the east in order to purge this taint at its source. Of this you have my word. I hope that when we meet, after this affair is dealt with, it shall be under far merrier circumstances, filled with tales of victory and triumph, and saturated not with undead scourge, but ale and merrymaking.’ And that’s the message, your highness” The messenger beams, then collapses onto the ground, in a dead faint, utterly exhausted,

OOC: can you please draw up some specs for these vampires canti? Right now it appears they can turn humans instantly, are impervious to eevrything we can realisticly field, can sneak into fortified settlements, and as they stand, appear invincible. Some specifications in the factfile for them would help a lot, featuring weaknesses, features, and other such things. It just seems a little unwinnable if one vampire can infect an entire town in an evening, all of whom instantly turn on their homeland, and are unkillable. Just a pointer. I'll be putting more up when I'm done tweaking my factfile.

OOC: but cantil, im really getting the thing of "godmodding" cuz in a war, id probably send 1K troops, while you would send 100 vamps, and the vamps would end up winning because they alter the weather somehow...so...lesson the vampire powers cuz they are getting WAY to powerful

OOC: i don't want to start an arguement, but really, even if I made my militant order as big as your army, they're still mortal-I'd be metagaming hugely if I created a specific military arm able to cast turn undead with riot hoses of holy water or something, afterall. I know this is a fantasy setting but try and cling to some realism. I mean, why bother building walls if vampires can just jump over them ? And mind control? I'm afraid things are getting a bit overpowered. I've also seen these guys described as "immortal" and "very hard to kill", so y'know, just tone it down, please? It's awesome to have a dynamic nation with a cool figurehead, but when that cool figurehead overpowers everything in its path...I'm sure you know waht I mean.

OOC: I'm not suggesting that either. Just find some middleground so it's fair and fun for everyone. I don't suggest you make them utterly underpowered, just give them some [/] limitations, be that numbers, or traditional weaknesses that doesn't involve some kind of holy grail esq quest to acquire. Like I said, I'm not being unreasonable here.
